IT TECHNICIAN
Job Summary
We are looking for an IT Technician who is a professional with a creative and analytical mind,
and who loves to solve difficult issues or challenges. You will have a pleasant disposition,
patience and high tolerance for clients who are frustrated and don’t know what to do. You are
skilled in resolving technical issues quickly and effectively; anywhere from smart phones to
desktops to networks to firewalls and security and has the understanding on the importance of
documenting all issues along with resolutions to each task.

Who we are:
A small company of 11 years with a large variety of clients in numerous types of businesses with
sizes ranging from one employee to 70 employees. We provide quality service and are always
helping, teaching, educating and training the end users to follow best practices for efficiency
and security with the software and hardware they use.

Work Experience
A minimum of three years Hands on IT experience from previous and existing jobs with regards
to the following:
-Support via Email, Phone and Remote to manage multiple support requests
-Support and maintain customer’s IT infrastructure, from desktops to servers to firewalls,
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and schedule effectively with little to no supervision daily
-Must document tasks / completed tasks and the resolutions
- Good communication skills in English both speaking and writing
- Must enjoy problem-solving using technology skillset as a reference to finding solutions to
technology's challenges. Google is good, but still, need to rely on existing knowledge and
common sense.
- Must have own transportation to move between locations within the GTA
Technical Skills:
Operating Systems to support:
Windows 7 Pro, Windows 10 Pro, MAC O/S (some)
Mobile Phones Support; mostly iPhone, same Android based

Servers to Support
Windows Server 2003 SBS up to and including Windows Server 2016 Std with Essentials
Additional Server Applications to Support
Exchange Server 2010 up to Exchange Server 2016, SQL Server Express
Other Customer Specific Applications

- Training will be provided as required by Steve
Backups
- Monitoring, and managing backup schedules
- Testing backups for reliability
- Maintaining backup plans for customers
- Maintain both on-premise backups as well as cloud-based
Office365
- Installations
- Setups (add users, remove users, disable users, etc.)
- Maintenance
Firewalls
- Software and hardware-based firewalls
- Monitoring and maintenance
- Configuration changes such as new firewall rules
Wifi / Access Points
- Monitoring and maintenance
- Firmware updates
VoIP Phone Systems
- Monitor and Maintain
- Software-based (O/S is either Windows or Linux, mostly Windows at this point)
- Setup softphones on desktops and softphone app on IOS and Android phones
- Setup and configure hard phones
- Additional training provided by Steve for phone system-specific requirements
Desktop Upkeep
- Software updates and patches, both from Microsoft and other software vendors
- Push tools are used and manual in some cases depending on the size and complexity of
the client
Asset Management
- Use tools for some clients to track assets for warranty, and service requests

Education
- Completed post secondary education
- Attended or attending either College or University
- Any completed training courses providing certifications in PC Support, Networking, Advanced
Networking, Server Setup / Maintenance, Routers and Switches, etc.
